Acer 5310 downgrade Vista to XP. How do I load SATA AHCI driver.
Tried it once for my HP b but did not get it to work. He said to hit the reset button after you’ve partitioned the drive, well I just hope it loads Windows XP’s boot cd or I’ve wasted all that time for nothing, but that’s the more serious way Travlmate think of trying to install XP so far.
Sorry for the speech, looks like others are in “Vista Hell” too. When booting from the CD, the internal disk is not satx and thus invisible to the XP setup program.
This laptop has no floppy drive and pressing S to specify additional device to load the driver gives no further options other than press F3 to quit setup.

Any suggestions on how to get the modified installer files onto a bootable CD? I was thinking travelmatee backing up any stuff I’ve left on Vista, using Acer’s “restore to factory settings” oh and Acer didn’t give me the Vista CD so I’m really annoyed.
Posted on Nov 21, Acer downgrade Vista to XP. Just follow his instructions and get those damn driver on to a CD it works perfect. People, who experience this stuff with Toshiba Satellite L40 Series, this is also your solution Tell us some more!
Worked for my Acer Extensa Thank you guys for the initial tips. Also I’m making a list of drivers on another cd I just wanted to make a strictly integrated clean sp2 into a WinXP.
